Rosenborg and the royal Treasury

This early 17th-century castle, with its moat and garden
setting, was built in Dutch Renaissance style by Christian IV to serve
as
his summer home. A century later, it was left and transformed in
a place to safeguard the monarchy’s heirlooms. |

|
|
In the 1830’s the royal family decided to open the castle
to
visitors as museum, while still using it as a treasury for royal
regalia and jewels. |
